Removal and Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter and fuel pump assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation  (AWD), Removal and Installation  (FWD).
  2. Turn the four retainers (A) 90° to disengage clips and remove fuel level sensor unit (sub) inspection hole cover.

  3. Disconnect the harness connector from the fuel level sensor unit (sub).
  4. Remove the lock ring from the fuel level sensor unit (sub).

    NOTE: SYMBOL Make a paint mark on the sub fuel level sensor assembly and fuel tank for an alignment reference during installation.
    • Remove the lock ring using Tool (A).
      Tool : - (NI-45747) (shown)
        : KV101207S0 (-)
    • Prior to removal, observe the alignment between fuel level sensor unit (sub) tabs (A) and the matching mark (B) on fuel tank as shown. This alignment is necessary for proper installation.

  5. Remove the fuel level sensor unit (sub).
    CAUTION:
    • Do not bend float arm during removal.
    • Do not tip fuel level sensor unit (sub) to avoid spilling fuel that remains in fuel level sensor unit (sub). Use a shop cloth to catch any fuel that spills.
    • Do not drop or bump fuel level sensor unit (sub).

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
