Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
  • Before replacing the BCM, perform "Before Replace ECU" of "Read/Write Configuration" to save or print current vehicle specification. Refer to Description .
  • When replacing the BCM, a new BCM must be used. The functions controlled by the BCM do not operate properly if a BCM from another vehicle is used.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
  2. Remove the instrument lower panel LH. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the screw (A) then pull the BCM (1) outward.

  4. Disconnect the harness connectors (A) from the BCM (1) and remove BCM.

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
  • When replacing the BCM, perform "After Replace ECU" of "Read/Write Configuration" or "Manual Configuration" to write vehicle specification. Refer to Description .
  • When replacing the BCM, perform the system initialization (NATS). Refer to Description .
  • When replacing the BCM, if a new BCM does not come with Intelligent Keys attached, all existing Intelligent Keys must be re-registered.
