Engine Identification

Engines can be identified by a code tape, containing engine code letters, installed directly above engine unit number on oil fill tube. Engine can also be identified by the fifth digit of the Vehicle Identification Number, stamped on a plate in left upper instrument panel (visible from outside of car).
