SERVICE INFORMATION

Some connectors used to connect various sensors to the ECM Harness are shown in Figure 7. (The example shown is a three terminal type.) These connectors may be used at the cam, crankshaft, MAT and coolant sensors along with ignition modules.

Terminals in these connectors are the pull-to-seat type. The wire is inserted through the seal (5) and connector body (4). The terminal (1) is crimped to the stripped wire, then pulled back into the connector body until it is locked in place.

To remove the terminal (1), first slide the seal (5) back on the wires, then insert tool (3) BT-8518 or J 3 5689 as shown in Figure 8 and Figure 9. To release the terminal, push the wire and terminal through the connector. If reusing the terminal, reshape the locking tang (2).
