Door Windows: Removal
WARNING:
When activated, the power window switch may lock into the express down mode causing the window to lower fully without stopping even though the switch has been released. Failure to exercise caution around the regulator assembly when operating the switch may result in personal injury and regulator damage.
- Remove door trim panel. See TRIM PANEL

- Move water deflector to gain access. See WATER DEFLECTOR .
- Lower window glass (94) enough to access rivets (96).WARNING: Tape the door glass to the door frame. If the glass drops into the door, personal injury or glass damage may result.
- Support the window glass (94) in position needed to access rivets (96) by taping it to door frame using cloth-backed body tape.
- Remove front window forward run channel retainer screw, if removing front window.
- Remove front window forward run channel retainer, if removing front window.
- Remove rivets (96) holding window sash (92) to window regulator sash (95), using a drill and a 5/16" drill bit.
- Remove window glass (94) and window sash (92). See Figure

for window sash.

- Run window regulator (98 or 101) to full down position. See Figure for front doors or Figure for rear doors.
- Disengage rear edge of window glass (94) from rear run channel.
- Slide window glass (94) forward and tilt it slightly to remove window glass (94) from rear run channel.
- Support window glass (94) and remove cloth-backed body tape.
