Shift Tube Assembly
- Visually inspect shift tube for sheared injected plastic (See Figure View "C", View "E" On J and N bodies). If shift tube shows sheared plastic, a new shift tube must be installed.
- Check shift lever operation. If lever can be moved to PARK position without raising the lever, this is an indication that upper shift tube plastic bearing is broken.
