Test A: Antenna & Transmitter Operation
- Disconnect the antenna from the Keyless Entry Module. Hold a transmitter close to the Keyless Entry Module and push the Unlock button. If the left door does not unlock, go to next step. If the left door does unlock, go to step 3 .
- Reprogram the Keyless Entry Module and repeat previous step. If left door still does not unlock, go to TEST B: POWER & GROUND . If the left door unlocks, reprogram the Keyless Entry Module using the other transmitter.
- Check the antenna connections at the Keyless Entry Module and at the rear window for good contact. Repair as necessary. If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Check continuity of the antenna grid on the top of the rear window by measuring resistance. Place one meter probe at one end of the grid, and the other probe on the connector terminal associated with that side. If the meter reads an open, there is a break in the grid. The location of the break can be found by moving the outer probe towards the connector, keeping the probe in contact with the grid. The break is located at the point where the resistance drops. The grid may be repaired using the procedure in ANTENNA REPAIR under ON-VEHICLE SERVICE. If the antenna grid is okay, the problem is in the coaxial cable.
