System Check

Use the System Check table as a guide to normal operation. Refer to diagnosis given if other results occur. Refer System Diagnosis for tests if a result is not normal.

SYSTEM CHECK

Action	Normal Result
With Ignition Switch at OFF and all doors locked, press Transmitter UNLOCK button while standing approximately 20 feet away from the vehicle	Driver's door unlocks Interior lights turn on for 25 seconds then turn off
Press Transmitter DOOR button	Driver's door locks Interior lights turn on for 25 seconds then turn off
Press Transmitter UNLOCK button twice within 25 seconds	All doors unlock Interior lights turn on for 25 seconds then turn off
Press Transmitter DOOR button	All doors lock Interior lights turn on for 25 seconds then turn off
Press Transmitter TRUNK button	Luggage Compartment Lid Latch releases Interior lights turn on for 25 seconds then turn off

NOTE: If Illuminated Entry feature does not operate with a door handle operated, troubleshoot Illuminated Entry before proceeding with Remote Keyless Entry diagnosis.

Remote keyless door lock/unlock function does not operate properly	Do Test D
Transmitter only operates at close range	Replace transmitter batteries Program known good transmitter. If RAC Module responds, replace transmitter. If not, replace RAC Module and see Programing Procedure
RAC Module can not be programmed	With Ignition Switch at OFF, measure voltage at ALDL connector terminal G. Battery voltage should be measured. If not check YEL (1398) wire for an open or short to ground. If OK, replace RAC Module and see Programming Procedure
