- With ignition switch in RUN position, connect a test voltmeter between positive and negative terminals at battery. If voltage reading on test voltmeter and vehicle's voltmeter does not match, go to next step. If voltage reading on test voltmeter is the same as vehicle's voltmeter, then vehicle's voltmeter is okay.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect voltmeter between Pink/Black wire and Black wire of instrument cluster connector.
- If test voltmeter reading is not consistent with vehicle's voltmeter, replace instrument cluster. If test voltmeter and vehicle voltmeter readings match, check Pink/Black wire and Black wire for high resistance. Repair or replace as necessary.
