Test 10 - Programming PKE Module

  1. Remove all transmitters from antenna range. Place one door lock key switch in unlock position. Press programming switch on instrument panel. Observe Programming Switch/Diagnostic Light (PS/DL). If light is flashing, go to step 4). If light is not flashing, go to next step.
  2. Place another door lock key switch in unlock position. Check PS/DL indicator. If light is flashing, go to TEST 14  . If light is not flashing, go to next step.
  3. Move transmitter(s) out of range. Momentarily jumper PKE module 16-pin connector terminals A1 (Black wire) to B6 (Black/White wire). If PS/DL indicator is not flashing, go to TEST 2  . If indicator is flashing, check Black wire and Black/White wire circuits, and programming switch. Repair as necessary.
  4. If indicator was flashing in step 1), move transmitter back into antenna range. If indicator is on continuously, go to step 6). If indicator is not on continuously, program was rejected. Go to next step.
  5. Remove first transmitter from antenna range. Move second transmitter into antenna range. If indicator is not on continuously, go to TEST 2  . If indicator is on continuously, test battery of first transmitter. If battery is good, replace transmitter and repeat programming.
  6. If indicator was on continuously in step 4), program is accepted. Move first transmitter out of antenna range. If indicator does not flash, go to next step. If indicator resumes flashing, move second transmitter into antenna range. If indicator is on continuously, program is accepted. Verify proper system operation. If indicator is not on continuously, check transmitter battery. If battery is good, replace transmitter and repeat programming steps.
  7. Ensure that first transmitter is out of antenna range. Repeat programming steps. If failure persists, check transmitter battery. If battery is good, replace transmitter and repeat programming steps.
