DTC 81: Brake Thermal Model Limit Exceeded: Notes

If excessive use of ABS or TCS is detected, EBTCM will disable TCS due to possible brake over temperature condition. Excessive braking and/or traction control could result in poor brake application or possible damage to brake rotors and/or brake pads. If DTC 81 is set, EBTCM illuminates TRACTION OFF indicator and TCS is disabled as long as both driven wheel brake rotor temperatures are more than 700°F (371°C). If rotor temperature drops below 530°F (277°C), TRACTION OFF indicator will be turned off. DTC 81 will reset itself after 200 ignition cycles.
