Trunk Release Does Not Operate From RKE Transmitter
- Disable valet switch. Press trunk release switch, located on instrument panel (Aurora) or below driver's door handle (Riviera). If trunk opens, go to next step. If trunk does not open, see TRUNK/HATCH RELEASE - POWER article.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located behind instrument panel on left side. Select RFA TEST FUNCTION. Request trunk to open. If trunk opens, go to step 4). If trunk does not open, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, backprobe RFA module connector terminal E1 (Light Blue wire), while pressing RKE transmitter trunk release button. If voltage is Zero volts, locate and repair open in Light Blue wire between trunk lid release relay connector and RFA module connector. If voltage is measured, check for poor terminal contact of RFA module connector. If connections are okay, replace RFA module.
- Using scan tool, select RFA DATA LIST INFO - KEY FOB INFO. While observing scan tool, press trunk release button on RKE transmitter. If RFA receives RKE transmitter command, replace RFA module. If RFA does not receive RKE transmitter command, resyncronize RKE transmitter. See RESYNCRONIZING TRANSMITTERS under PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES.
