Cluster Power & Ground Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C1 Pink wire terminal D9 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  2. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between instrument cluster connector Pink wire, terminal F16 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  3. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminals F16 (Pink wire) and F7 (Pink wire), then terminals F16 (Pink wire) and F8 (Black/White wire). If battery voltage is not present in both cases, check Black/White wire(s) for an open circuit.
  4. If battery voltage is present in both cases, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminals F16 (Pink wire) and E11 (Black wire), then terminals F16 (Pink wire) and E12 (Black wire). If battery voltage is not present in both cases, check Black wires for an open circuit.
  5. If battery voltage is present in both cases, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2 terminal F5 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  6. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminal F4 (Light Green wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Light Green wire for an open circuit. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminal F3 (Orange wire) and ground.
  7. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange wire for an open circuit. If battery voltage is present, check instrument cluster connector C1 for good contact at terminal D9 (Pink wire). Check instrument cluster connector C2 for good contact at terminals F16, F5, F4, F3, F7, F8, E11 and E12. If all circuits are okay, replace instrument cluster.
