Right Front, Left Rear Or Right Rear Window Is Inoperative

  1. Disconnect inoperative window switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe at terminal "A" (Tan wire, right front or Purple wire, left rear and right rear wire) at inoperative window switch wiring harness connector. If test light illuminates, go to step 5). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Check for poor connection or open in Tan wire (right front) or Purple wire (left or right rear) of inoperative window switch. Repair as necessary. If poor connection or open does not exist, replace master window switch.
  3. Leave test light in same position as in step 1). Using master window switch, press inoperative window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5).
  4. Disconnect master window switch connector C1 if right front inoperative, or connector C2 if left or right rear inoperative. Check for short to ground in Light Blue wire (right front), Dark Green wire (left rear) or Light Green wire (right rear). If short exists, repair as necessary. If short does not exist, replace master window switch. Recheck system operation.
  5. Connect test light between battery voltage and inoperative window switch harness connector terminal "E" (Light Blue wire if right front, Dark Green wire if left rear or Light Green wire if right rear). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 7).
  6. Check for open in wire connected to inoperative switch harness connector terminal "E" (Light Blue wire if right front, Dark Green wire if left rear, Light Green wire if right rear). Repair as necessary. Recheck system operation.
  7. Leave test light connected as in step 5). Using master window switch, press and hold inoperative window switch in UP position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9).
  8. Disconnect master window switch connector C1 if right front window inoperative, or connector C2 if right rear or left rear window inoperative. Check for short to ground in Light Blue wire, Light Green or Dark Green wire between master switch and inoperative window switch. Repair as necessary.
  9. Connect test light between ground and inoperative window switch harness connector terminal "B" (Dark Blue wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If test light illuminates, go to step 11). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  10. Repair poor connection or open in Dark Blue wire between inoperative switch and splice S307. Recheck system operation.
  11. Reconnect inoperative window switch connector. Disconnect inoperative window regulator motor. Connect test light between inoperative window regulator motor harness connector terminals "A" (Brown wire) and "B" (Dark Blue wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Move inoperative window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step 13).
  12. Replace inoperative window regulator. Recheck system operation.
  13. Check for open or short to ground in Brown wire or Dark Blue wire between inoperative window switch and window regulator motor. Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  14. Replace inoperative window switch. Recheck system operation.
