Road Test Procedure
Perform road with scan tool connected to vehicle. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calculates upshift points based primarily on throttle position and vehicle speed. When PCM determines a shift should occur, an electrical signal is sent to shift solenoids. Solenoids move shift valves to perform shift. A scan tool should be used during road test to monitor throttle position. Some scan tools are capable of recording shift point information. Check scan tool instruction manual to determine if this test is available.
