System Tests: Notes
WARNING:
Vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
NOTE:
The following tests assume that engine and battery are operating normally and are at normal operating temperature, battery is fully charged, there are no engine problems that would cause a no-start condition, and no DTCs are present.
NOTE:
On 4.0L engines, to check or probe starter solenoid connections, intake manifold must be removed to access starter. See STARTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
