Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove right front seat. See FRONT SEAT  . From under seat, disconnect electrical connector, remove retainers and seat weight control module.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Perform seat weight sensor calibration. See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION  .
NOTE: When "lightly pat the passenger seat cushion" is displayed on scan tool screen during seat weight sensor calibration procedure, lightly pat headrest or upper side of seat back trim on right front seat horizontally about 5 times.
