Park Lock Cable (Console Shift - Intrigue): Removal

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the front floor console. See CONSOLE (INTRIGUE) .
Remove the knee bolster. See KNEE BOLSTER .
Place the transaxle shift control lever in the Park position.
NOTE: Ensure the ignition key is in the RUN position. Do not attempt to proceed to the next step with the key in any other position.
Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
Slip a screwdriver blade into the slot provided in the ignition switch inhibitor.
Use the screwdriver to depress the cable latch.
Pull the cable from the inhibitor.
Remove the park/lock cable at the shift control.
Remove the cable retainer from the park/lock cable at the shift control. See Figure .
Remove the park/lock cable.
