Engine Identification
Two plates are riveted on the cylinder block and used to identify the engine: See Fig 1 .
NOTE:
The following numbers identify information in Fig 1
.
- (1) Riveted plate with the engine type: DFV
- (2) Riveted plate with the engine number
In order to optimize the fuel injection system and the ignition control, these two functions have been regrouped into a single ECU named MOTRONIC.
The input signals provided to the ECU by the various sensors are used for both ignition control and injection control.
