Semi-Automatic Temperature Control: Description

Semi-Automatic Temperature Control (SATC) is available on standard size cars except for Aspen and Volare. With this system, driver selects comfort level (temperature), mode of operation, and blower speed. System will automatically heat or cool (within a given temperature range and ambient conditions) to maintain the selected setting. SATC system operates with the same basic components as the manual A/C system, but adds a few devices to obtain automatic temperature control. These are the ambient compensator, bi-metal sensor, vacuum servo actuator, aspirator, in car inlet grille and vacuum reservoir on Gran Fury, Newport, New Yorker and St. Regis. On remaining SATC equipped models, electronic control is used with the control head assembly rheostat, ambient sensor, aspirator and air drive tube, in car sensor assembly and electronic servomotor.
