Coolant Sensor Test (2.2L)
- Turn ignition off and disconnect wire connector from sensor. See Fig 1 . Connect one ohmmeter lead to terminal 1 of sensor (Black/Light Blue wire). Connect other ohmmeter lead to terminal 3 (Black/Red wire). Ohmmeter should read 20-200 ohms below 150°F (66°C); 100-1500 ohms at 150-200°F (66-94°C); and 400-6000 ohms above 200°F (94°C)
- Move ohmmeter lead from terminal 3 to terminal 2 (Black/ Orange wire). Ohmmeter should indicate 382,000-22,000 ohms at -40° to 20°F (-130 to 7°C); 36,000-3,300 ohms at 50-100°F (10-38°C); and 3,900-176 ohms at l40-245°F (60-118°C). If resistance is not to specifications, replace coolant sensor.
