Self-Diagnostic System: Notes
The Bendix-10 Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is controlled and monitored by the Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). In addition to controlling ABS system, CAB has 3 useful diagnostic capabilities.
- Fault codes are stored in memory until they are erased by technician using Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box-II (DRB-II) or erased automatically by CAB after 50 ignition cycles.
- More than one fault code can be stored at a time. The number of fault codes stored is displayed by DRB-II. The number of ignition cycles since most recent fault was stored is also displayed.
- Using DRB-II, most functions of CAB and ABS can be accessed by technician for testing and diagnostic purposes.
