Driver Door Fails To Lock & Unlock

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. Unless instructed otherwise in test step, reconnect any disconnected connectors.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector. Lower driver window. Connect a jumper wire between RKE module connector terminals No. 4, door lock driver circuit (Orange/Black wire) and No. 12, ground circuit (Black wire). See Figure. Go to next step.
  2. Manually lock driver door. Connect second jumper wire to RKE module connector terminal No. 5, driver door unlock driver circuit (Pink/Black wire). Observe driver door lock while momentarily touching other end of second jumper wire to RKE module connector terminal No. 3, fused B+ circuit (Red wire). If driver door unlocks, replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If driver door does not unlock, disconnect jumper wires, leave RKE module connector disconnected and go to next step.
  3. Ensure ignition is off. Remove driver inner door trim to gain access to driver door lock motor. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect door lock motor connector. Connect a 12-volt test light between door lock motor connector terminals No. 3, driver door unlock driver circuit (Pink/Black wire) and No. 4, door lock driver circuit (Orange/Black wire). See Figure. Press door lock switch to lock and unlock positions. If test light illuminates when door lock switch is pressed, replace door lock motor. If test light does not illuminate when door lock switch is pressed, leave door lock motor connector disconnected and go to next step.
  4. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of driver door unlock driver circuit (Pink/Black wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 5 and driver door lock motor connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave RKE module and door lock motor connectors disconnected, and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Pink/Black wire.
  5. Using ohmmeter, check resistance of door lock driver circuit (Orange/Black wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 4 and driver door lock motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Orange/Black wire.
