Code 33, Map Sensor Signal Volt Hi: Notes

If MAP sensor fails, ECM will substitute a fixed MAP value and use TPS sensor to control fuel delivery.

1. This test confirms Code 33 and determines if the fault is the result of a hard failure and/or intermittent condition. Code 33 will set when MAP signal voltage is too high, TPS is less than 2 percent and these conditions have been met for more than 5 seconds.
2. This step simulates conditions for a Code 34. If the ECM recognizes and sets Code 34 (low MAP signal), ECM and circuits No. 474 and 432 are not at fault.
