Code 44, Lean Exhaust Indication: Notes

An open sensor circuit or a bad sensor causes "open loop" operation.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

Code 44 indicates that one minute after engine start, ECM has seen O2 sensor voltage less than .2 volt for 50 seconds or more. This test allows the ECM to confirm conditions for Code 44.
