CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

The remote lock control system is used to lock and unlock doors and also provides illumination following an unlock command.

The transmitter is a hand-held device that is powered by two 3.0 volt lithium batteries. Data is transmitted on an RF carrier frequency of 315 MHz. Two buttons (unlock-upper right, lock-upper left) control the functions of the system. See Fig 1 . The operating range of the transmitter is temperature dependent and may also vary with its angular position at time of actuation. See TRANSMITTER OPERATING RANGE  table.

The receiver is mounted to the right body side frame behind the glove box and is adjacent to the power door lock relay. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . It is powered by the vehicle battery through the cross-car harness.
