Alternator Indicator

  1. If indicator light stays on when engine is running, go to step 3). If indicator light fails to come on with ignition on and engine not running, disconnect generator connector and connect a fused jumper wire between ground and generator connector terminal "L" (Brown wire). Turn ignition on.
  2. If indicator comes on, check for poor connection. If connection is okay, replace generator. If indicator does not come on, check bulb and check Brown wire and Pink/Black wire for open. If bulb and wires are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Disconnect generator connector. Turn ignition on. If indicator light does not come on, replace generator. If indicator light comes on, check Brown wire and/or printed circuit for short to ground. If wire and printed circuit are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
