Pick-Up Coil: Removal

  1. Remove distributor from engine. See DISTRIBUTOR  . Remove roll pin retaining spring from coupling. Mark coupling and shaft for reassembly reference. Support body of coupling in "V" block. DO NOT  support on tangs.
    CAUTION: Coupling is under spring tension.
  2. Drive out roll pin. Remove coupling. Clean any burrs from shaft. Remove shaft. Remove pick-up coil retainer plate. Remove pick-up coil. See Figure . Unplug module connectors. Remove module mounting screws and module.
