Servo Assembly
Servo assembly consists of a vacuum-operated diaphragm that actuates the throttle lever, 2 vacuum control solenoids (vacuum solenoid and vent solenoid) and a variable inductance position sensor. See Fig 1 . Servo incorporates a steel core which moves within a coil. The resulting variable inductance supplies a continuous servo position signal to cruise control module. Vacuum and vent solenoids, responding to commands from cruise control module, regulate vacuum supply to diaphragm. Engine manifold vacuum, assisted by a vacuum storage tank, provides vacuum source for diaphragm.
