DTC C0240: TCS Malfunction

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN, with engine off. Using scan tool, read ABS/TCS DTCs. If any other DTCs are set, see appropriate DTC test. If no other DTCs are set, go to next step.
  3. If DTC C0240 is set as a current code, go to step  5. If DTC C0240 is not set as a current code, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Remove scan tool from DLC. Carefully drive vehicle greater than 8 MPH for several minutes. Check for DTC. If DTC C0240 sets as a current code, go to next step. If DTC C0240 does not set as a current code, see DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  5. Perform Powertrain OBD system check. See appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If vehicle passes OBD system check, go to next step. If vehicle does not pass OBD system check, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  6. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle to verify repair. If DTC resets, go to step  2. If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
