Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Aztek and 2002 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar .
  2. Reposition the front door opening weather-strips.
  3. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  4. Remove the overhead console. Console Replacement - Overhead (Rendezvous)  or Console Replacement - Overhead (Aztek) 
  5. Remove the upper center trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar .

  6. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper .
  7. Remove the left and the right lamps from the roof side rail. Refer to ROOF SIDE RAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  8. Reposition the liftgate weather-strips.
  9. Use J 38778  in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  10. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
