Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (OLD STYLE) or FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (NEW STYLE GMC) or FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT-FRONT (NEW STYLE CHEVROLET) .
  2. Install the air deflector to the bumper if necessary. Refer to Air Deflector Replacement-Front Bumper Fascia   . 
  3. Position the front bumper assembly on the vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
    IMPORTANT: Tighten the bolts in the following sequence.
  4. Install the retaining bolts (1, 2) to the front bumper.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the bracket bolt (1) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bracket bolt (2) to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the brace bolt to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamps, if equipped.
  6. Install the front grille Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (OLD STYLE) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE GMC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (NEW STYLE CHEVROLET) .
