Fuel Rails & Fuel Injectors: Installation

- Install NEW "O" rings (3) and new grommets (2) on the fuel injectors (1). See Fig 1 .
- Apply clean engine oil to the "O" rings (3) and to the grommets (2).
- Install the fuel injectors (1) into the fuel rail. See Figure .
- Install fuel rail (3) and spacers (2) onto the engine. See Figure .
- Install 2 fuel rail-to-engine bolts (4). Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the bolt (1) to the fuel supply pipe bracket. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect fuel injector harness connectors.
- Install the bolt to the ignition coil wire harness bracket. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect EVAP hose (3). See Figure .
- Connect PCV breather hose (2). See Figure .
- Connect PCV hose (1) to the PCV valve. See Figure .
- Connect the quick-connect fitting (1) for the fuel feed hose to the fuel feed pipe (2) of the fuel rail. See Fig 2 . See QUICK CONNECT FITTING(S) SERVICE (METAL COLLAR) .
- Install the quick connect coupling cover.
- Connect negative battery cable. Tighten clamp bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position to pressurize the fuel system.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Repair any fuel leaks as necessary.
- Install engine cover (1).
- Install engine cover (1) bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
