Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
- Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
- Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - LEFT or ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT .
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the engine right side exhaust manifold.
- Remove the right front wheel and tire.
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT -- ENGINE .
- Remove the engine mount lower nuts.NOTE: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.
- Use a utility stand and a block of wood in order to raise the engine.
- Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
- Remove the engine mount and the engine mount bracket.
- Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
- Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.
