Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
    • PPS pressure sensor
    • PPS pressure sensor wiring harness connector
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the PPS sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 ohms between the PPS sensor ground circuit terminal D and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the PPS B+ circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Reconnect all PPS components and perform the Passenger Presence System Preload Test .
  5. Verify DTC B0074 is not set.
    • If DTC B0074 is set, replace the PPS sensor.
