Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT:
When removing connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected.
- SDM
- SDM wiring harness
- Ignition OFF, remove the IGN 1 AIR BAG fuse.
- Ignition ON, test for 9-16 V between the voltage supply side of the fuse and ground.
- If not within the specified range, refer to DTC B1370-B1379, B1380-B1389, or B1440-B1443 .
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the SDM and disconnect the X2 harness connector at the IP fuse block.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm between the ignition 1 circuit terminal 32 at the SDM harness connector and the IP fuse block terminal 10 X2.
- If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the ignition 1 circuit terminal 32 at the SDM harness connector and the IP fuse block terminal 10 X2.
- If greater than the specified value, test the circuit for a short to voltage.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the SDM.
