Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the cruise control release switch (3), if equipped, and the stop lamp switch (1) to the brake pedal with the bracket (2).
- Install the brake pedal brace (4) with the mounting nuts (1) to the bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal with the bracket (3).
- Install the upper mounting bolt for the brake pedal brace (4).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal bracket mounting nuts (2).
Tighten: Tighten the nuts (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the brake booster mounting nuts (3).
Tighten: Tighten the nuts (3) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the cruise control release if equipped and stop lamp switch.
- Install the booster push rod (2) to the brake pedal (1).
- Adjust the stop lamp switch and the cruise control release switch if equipped. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment in Lighting System.
- Install the left side insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
