Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cruise control release switch (3), if equipped, and the stop lamp switch (1) to the brake pedal with the bracket (2).

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the brake pedal brace (4) with the mounting nuts (1) to the bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the brake pedal with the bracket (3).
  5. Install the upper mounting bolt for the brake pedal brace (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the brake pedal bracket mounting nuts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the brake booster mounting nuts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts (3) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Connect the electrical connectors to the cruise control release if equipped and stop lamp switch.
  11. Install the booster push rod (2) to the brake pedal (1).
  12. Adjust the stop lamp switch and the cruise control release switch if equipped. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment in Lighting System.
  13. Install the left side insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  14. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
