Installation Procedure

Install the new water pump gasket.
Place the water pump in position on the front cover.

CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
Install the short water pump bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the short water pump bolts in the sequence shown to 14 N.m (124 in lbs).

Install the long water pump bolts (1).
Tighten

Tighten the long water pump bolts to 14 N.m (124 in lbs).

Install the water pump pulley.
Install the water pump pulley bolts and hand tighten.

Install the drive belt idler pulley.
Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).

Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT .
Tighten the water pump pulley bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 12 N.m (106 in lbs).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
