Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Place the jack stands under the front suspension crossmember.
  3. Lower the vehicle slightly in order to rest the weight of the vehicle on the front suspension crossmember and not on the control arms.
  4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. If the vehicle is equipped with an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), disconnect the wheel speed sensor.
  6. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, remove the one bolt and the ABS wheel speed sensor from the strut.
  7. Remove the 1 bolt connecting the flexible hose to the strut assembly.
  8. Loosen the nuts on the lower side of the strut assembly. Do not remove the bolts.

  10. Partially lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove 3 strut assembly mounting nuts from the strut tower (2).

  12. Remove the following from the lower side of the strut assembly:
    • The 2 bolts
    • The 2 nuts
  13. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
