Verify customer complaint by operating cruise control system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Verify brakelights function properly. Inspect for faulty cruise control fuses. For cruise control fuse locations, refer to fuse illustration. See Fig 1 . Check for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harness and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Repair as necessary.

Inspect for damaged or binding cruise control cable. Reroute and verify operation of cruise control cable as necessary. Inspect for incorrect cruise control cable, cruise control clutch switch (M/T), cruise control brake switch and brake switch adjustments. Inspect throttle linkage/cable for smooth operation. Unbind as necessary. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. Repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, perform CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
