Disassembly Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Thoroughly clean the exterior of the pump (4).

  3. Remove the bolt and the inlet tube from the pump.
  4. Remove the inlet tube seal from the inlet tube.
  5. Remove the pump fitting from the flow control valve.
  6. Remove the pump fitting seal from the pump fitting.
  7. Remove the flow control valve from the pump.
  8. Remove the flow control valve spring.
  9. Remove the power steering pump pressure switch.
  10. Remove the 4 bolts and the rear pump housing from the front housing.
  11. Remove the pump housing seal.
  12. Remove the retainer ring from the pump shaft.

  13. Remove the pump vanes (2) and the pump rotor (1).

  14. Remove the pump ring (1).

  15. Remove the pulley and the pump shaft from the front housing.
  16. Remove the pump plate (1).

  17. Remove the small plate seal (2).
  18. Remove the large plate seal (1).

  19. Remove the pump shaft seal from the front housing.
