- Inspect the CKP sensor "O" ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the "O" ring. Lubricate the crankshaft sensor "O" ring with clean engine oil. Install the CKP sensor and the retaining bolt. Tighten the retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the CKP sensor electrical connector. Install the NEW "O" rings onto the oil filter adapter. Petrolatum may be used to retain the "O" rings in the adapter. Install the 2 bolts attaching the oil filter adapter to the engine block. Tighten the oil filter adapter bolts to specification. Lightly oil the replacement oil filter gasket with clean oil. Fill the oil filter with the clean engine oil. Install the oil filter.
- Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil pressure switch. Make sure the "O" rings are properly positioned to the engine oil cooler pipes. Position the engine oil cooler pipes to the oil filter adapter, if equipped. Install the engine oil cooler fitting with the long nut to the engine oil filter adapter. Install the engine oil cooler fitting with the short nut to the engine oil filter adapter.
- Ensure the engine oil cooler pipes are positioned horizontally and parallel to each other while tightening. Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to specification. Install the front air deflector. Install the push in retainers that retain the front air deflector to the vehicle. Lower the vehicle. Adjust the engine oil level to the full mark. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start-up.
- Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SYSTEM VARIATION LEARN PROCEDURE under PROGRAMMING.
