Installation Procedure

  1. Install the midgate hinge reinforcement (1) to the midgate.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the nuts retaining the hinge reinforcement to the midgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the midgate hinge reinforcement nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

    Position the hinges (2) and reinforcements (1) in the position marked during removal.

  3. Install the midgate regulator assembly. Refer to Wedge Replacement - Midgate .
  4. Install the midgate window. Refer to Window Replacement - Midgate .
  5. Raise the midgate window, ensuring the midgate window is properly aligned in the seal channel. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the hinge reinforcements.
  6. Inspect for proper fit of the midgate to the midgate weatherstrip. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the midgate for proper fit to the weatherstrip.
  7. Install the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Panel Replacement - Inner .
