Installation Procedure

  1. Install the midgate hinge assembly (2) to the midgate.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the nuts retaining the hinge assembly to the midgate. Position the hinges (2) and reinforcements (1) in the position marked during removal.

    Tighten:  Tighten the midgate hinge nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the midgate regulator assembly. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Midgate .
  4. Install the midgate assembly. Refer to Midgate Replacement .
  5. Raise the midgate window, ensuring the midgate window is properly aligned in the seal channel. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the hinge reinforcements.
  6. Inspect for proper fit of the midgate to the midgate weatherstrip. If necessary, loosen the midgate hinge nuts and adjust the midgate for proper fit to the weatherstrip.
  7. Install the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Panel Replacement - Inner .
