Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear floor trim panel. Refer to Trim Cover Replacement - Rear Floor Trim Panel in Interior Trim.
  2. Disconnect the midgate electrical connector.
  3. Remove the midgate handle. Refer to Handle Replacement - Midgate .

  4. Remove the screw retaining the midgate inner panel to the midgate.
  5. Release the clips retaining the midgate inner panel to the midgate structure.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the midgate latch release switch.
  7. Remove the midgate harness grommet (2) from the midgate inner panel.
  8. Remove the midgate latch release from the midgate inner panel. Refer to Switch Replacement - Midgate Latch .
  9. Remove the midgate inner panel from the vehicle.
