Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the wiring harness connectors (1 and 4).

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Connect the steering wheel module electrical connector (2).
    3. IMPORTANT: Ensure the wiring harness connectors and wiring harness is not exposed or trapped between the steering wheel module and the steering wheel hub.
  3. Install the steering wheel module (3). Align the module to the 4 retaining clips on the steering wheel and press the steering wheel module toward the steering wheel until the retaining clips lock.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 .
