Installation Procedure

Install the shift control closeout boot (1) and retaining plate assembly in the vehicle.
Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the 4 shift control closeout boot retaining nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the shift control closeout boot retaining nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.

Push the shift control closeout boot (1) down until it seats on the control lever (2).
Install the control lever assembly. Refer to Shift Control Assembly Replacement .
