Removal Procedure

Remove the control lever assembly. Refer to Shift Control Assembly Replacement .
Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the shift control closeout boot retaining nuts (3).
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the shift control closeout boot (1) and retaining plate assembly from the vehicle.
Inspect the boot for damage, replace boot as necessary.
