Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the hood.
  2. Remove the push-in retainers (1) from the hood latch closeout panel.

  4. Remove the hood latch closeout panel from the vehicle.

  6. Block the hood latch to prevent the hood locking until the hood release cable has been installed.
  7. Mark the location of the hood latch with a grease pencil.
  8. Remove the bolts from the hood latch.
  9. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support.

    IMPORTANT: Do not crimp the hood latch release cable.
  11. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the cable retainer and position aside.

  13. Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.
