Enabling Procedure

- Remove the key from the ignition switch.
- When enabling the right/passenger seat belt pretensioner proceed to step 3, if the SDM needs enabling then use entire procedure.
- Connect the seat belt pretensioner-right connector to the vehicle wiring harness connector (1).
- Install the CPA to the seat belt pretensioner connector (1).
- Connect the right roof rail module wiring harness yellow connector (2) to the right roof rail module (3).
- Install the CPA to the right roof rail module connector (2).
- Install the right rear sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Connect the I/P module yellow connector (1) to the vehicle harness yellow connector (2).
- Install the CPA to the I/P module yellow connector (1).
- Install the right sound insulator to the I/P (3). Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Connect the steering wheel module coil yellow connector (3) to the vehicle harness yellow connector (1).
- Install the CPA to the steering wheel module coil yellow connector (1).
- Install the left sound insulator to the I/P (2). Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Connect the seat belt pretensioner-left connector to the vehicle wiring harness connector (1).
- Install the CPA to the seat belt pretensioner connector (1).
- Connect the left roof rail module wiring harness yellow connector (2) to the left roof rail module (3).
- Install the CPA to the left roof rail module connector (2).
- Install the left rear sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Install the SIR Fuse.
- Close the underhood fuse center cover.
- Use caution while reaching in and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
The AIR BAG indicator will flash then turn OFF.
- Perform the SIR Diagnostic System Check if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - SIR .
